Facial Plastic Surgery in Turkey
Rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, facelifts, brow lifts and injectables in Turkey: which operation addresses which change, and how long each one really takes to settle.

The short answer
Facial work divides along one line: operations move tissue, injectables fill or relax it. A facelift repositions skin and muscle that has descended. Filler adds volume where it has gone. Botulinum toxin stops a muscle pulling a line. None of the three substitutes for either of the others, and the commonest disappointment here is someone spending for years on injectables when the complaint was descent.
The second line is the nose. Rhinoplasty is the most technically demanding operation on this page and the one with the highest revision rate anywhere in the world — in published series, somewhere around one in ten. That is a fact about the operation, not about Turkey.
Everything here takes longer to settle than people expect. Eyelids look reasonable in two weeks. A facelift takes two to three months before you stop noticing it and six before it is final. A nose is not finished for twelve to eighteen months. Plan the date backwards from the event you care about, not forwards from the booking.
Which operation addresses which concern
Nose shape, a hump, a wide or drooping tip, or blocked breathing
Rhinoplasty — septum and turbinates are corrected in the same operation when they are part of the problem.
A previous nose operation you are unhappy with
Revision rhinoplasty. Bring the original operation notes; without them nobody can plan properly.
Heavy or hooded upper lids, skin touching the lashes
Upper blepharoplasty — the highest-volume facial operation here, often under local anaesthetic.
Bags or loose skin under the eyes
Lower blepharoplasty, which is a different operation from the upper and priced separately.
Brows sitting low, a heavy look across the forehead
Brow lift, or a forehead lift where the hairline position also needs changing.
Jawline blurring, loose skin under the chin, neck bands
Neck lift, or a lower facelift when the cheeks and jowls have come down too.
Descent across the whole face and neck
Face and neck lift — one operation, one anaesthetic, one recovery, rather than three visits.
Early changes in your forties, not ready for a full lift
Mini facelift. Smaller operation, smaller result, and an honest staging point rather than a cheaper version of the same thing.
Ears standing out
Otoplasty — usually local anaesthetic, two nights, and the one facial operation commonly done in childhood.
Lines and lost volume, no sagging
Botulinum toxin for movement lines, dermal filler for volume. Both temporary, both repeatable, neither a substitute for surgery.
A mole or skin lesion
Mole removal, with histology on anything removed — a changing mole is a dermatology question before it is a cosmetic one.

Swelling is the part people underestimate
The bruising everyone asks about is the short part — a week to ten days for eyelids, two to three weeks for a facelift, and concealable with makeup before that. The swelling is the long part, and it is what makes early photographs misleading.
An eyelid result is readable at two weeks and final at three months. A facelift is presentable at three weeks and settled at six months. A nose looks like the plan at about three months, loses the last of the tip swelling over a year, and in thick skin can take eighteen months.
This is why we schedule around your own calendar rather than the next available slot, and why we ask what you are recovering for.
What combining operations does and does not save
Doing eyelids with a facelift, or a brow lift with upper lids, genuinely saves money and one anaesthetic and one recovery. The incisions are adjacent and the surgeon is already there.
There is a limit, and it is anaesthetic time rather than price. Long combined operations carry a higher risk of clots and poorer healing, and a surgeon who will add a fourth and fifth procedure to fill a package is working to the invoice rather than to the patient. Where we think a plan is too much for one sitting, we will say so and offer it in two.
What legitimately changes a quote
- Whether breathing correction is part of the nose operation — septoplasty and turbinate reduction change the operating time.
- Revision rather than primary surgery: scar tissue, and sometimes cartilage taken from a rib or ear, make it a longer and more expensive operation.
- How much skin there is to remove, which is why photographs rather than a description are needed before a figure can be honest.
- Local anaesthetic against general, which changes the hospital time and the stay.
- Nothing else. The surgeon does not become more expensive because you asked in December.
What the package covers and what it does not
The quoted figure covers the operation in a hospital theatre, the anaesthetist and pre-operative tests, hospital nights where the operation needs them, hotel nights for the rest of the stay, private transfers, splint or suture removal before you go, a fit-to-fly report and the medication you leave with.
Flights are separate, and so is travel insurance that names elective surgery abroad. A revision later is its own operation at its own price — which is worth knowing specifically for rhinoplasty, where the revision rate is real.

Questions people ask
How long do I stay in Turkey for facial surgery?
Eyelid surgery and otoplasty, about four to five nights. Rhinoplasty, seven: one in hospital, the splint comes out on day six or seven. A face and neck lift, eight to ten, because drains have to come out and the first dressing change is done before you fly.
Will anyone be able to tell I have had surgery?
Facelift incisions sit in front of and behind the ear and in the hairline, and are hard to see once settled. Upper eyelid scars sit in the lid crease. A nose has no external scar in a closed technique and a small one across the columella in an open one. What gives surgery away is rarely the scar — it is an overdone result, which is a decision rather than a technique.
Is a facelift permanent?
No, and nobody can honestly say otherwise. A well-done lift puts the tissues back where they were some years earlier; ageing then carries on from there. Most people are looking at ten to fifteen years before they would consider another, and smoking and sun shorten that more than any surgical detail.
Can I fly home with a nasal splint on?
You fly after the splint comes out, which is why rhinoplasty is a seven-night plan rather than four. Internal swelling and a pressurised cabin together are uncomfortable and make bleeding more likely, so we do not shorten this one.
I had a nose job elsewhere and I am unhappy. Can it be fixed?
Often, but not always to the plan you had in mind, and not before a year has passed since the first operation — tissues need to settle before anyone can judge what is scar and what is structure. We will need the original operation notes and a CT in some cases, and we would rather tell you the limit beforehand than discover it on the table.
