What Dermal Fillers involves
Dermal fillers restore volume and shape where the face has lost it or never had it: lips, the folds from nose to mouth, flat cheeks, a receding chin, the hollow under the eyes, or the line of the jaw. The fillers used in Kuşadası are hyaluronic acid gels — a substance the body already contains — from established manufacturers, placed by a doctor with a needle or a blunt cannula. They soften lines that are present at rest and rebuild contours, which is what botulinum toxin cannot do.
One millilitre is the standard unit and it goes further than most people expect in the right place: full correction of the lips or the chin, a meaningful improvement of the nasolabial folds, a subtle lift of one cheek pair. Larger reshaping — full cheeks plus jawline, for example — needs more volume and is priced per additional millilitre. The doctor tells you honestly what 1 ml will and will not achieve for the area you have in mind.
What fillers do not do: they do not lift sagging skin (surgery does), they do not treat dynamic lines caused by muscle movement (toxin does), and they are not permanent — hyaluronic acid is gradually absorbed over 6–18 months. Their great advantage is that they are reversible: if a result is uneven or unwanted, an enzyme (hyaluronidase) dissolves the filler within a day.

Techniques and options
Product selection
Hyaluronic acid fillers come in different firmness: soft gels for lips and tear troughs, firmer gels for cheeks, chin and jawline. The doctor chooses the product to the area. All are from established manufacturers with traceable batch numbers, recorded in your notes.
Needle or cannula
A fine needle gives precision for lips and small lines. A blunt cannula, inserted through a single entry point, glides beneath the skin and is used for cheeks, tear troughs and jawline, where it reduces bruising and the risk of injecting into a blood vessel.
Vascular safety
The most important safety measure with fillers is avoiding injection into an artery, which can block blood supply to skin or, rarely, the eye. Doctors here follow standard precautions: knowledge of the danger zones, slow low-pressure injection of small amounts, aspiration before injecting where a needle is used, cannulas in high-risk areas, and hyaluronidase available in the room to dissolve filler immediately if a vessel is affected.
Layering and conservative dosing
Filler is placed in small amounts and assessed as it goes; a second visit is preferable to over-filling. The aim is that people notice you look well, not that you have had filler.
Reversibility
Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid filler within a day if a result is uneven, over-done or complicated. This is why hyaluronic acid rather than permanent fillers is used.
What happens on surgery day

A short consultation: your goal, previous fillers and where they were placed, medical history and medication.

The face is cleaned and numbing cream applied for 15–20 minutes if wanted; most fillers also contain lidocaine.

The doctor marks the area and injects with a needle or cannula, assessing as the filler is placed and moulding it gently.

Twenty to thirty minutes in total. Slight swelling and occasional pinpoint bruising afterwards.

You leave immediately with written aftercare and the product batch details. A remote check at 2 weeks.
Recovery timeline
Day 0
Swelling and mild tenderness, most noticeable in the lips; small bruises possible. Cold compresses for a few minutes at a time. No make-up over entry points for 12 hours.
Days 1–3
Swelling peaks then settles, particularly in the lips. Normal activity; avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24–48 hours.
Days 7–14
Result settled; any small lumps have softened. Photos for the remote check; a small adjustment or dissolution if needed.

Gradual absorption; repeat when the effect fades, often with less product.
Results — and their limits
Restored volume or a refined contour that looks natural — fuller lips with a defined border, softened folds, a lifted cheek, a stronger chin or jawline, a filled tear trough.
Lips and tear troughs typically last 6–12 months; cheeks, chin and jawline 12–18 months, depending on the product and how quickly you metabolise it.
Sagging skin, dynamic lines and skin texture are unchanged; those are addressed with surgery, toxin or resurfacing.
Because the filler is reversible, an unwanted result can be dissolved rather than waited out.

Risks and how they are managed
Every operation carries risk. These are the ones that matter for this procedure, and what is done to reduce, spot or treat each.
Swelling, bruising, tenderness
Expected for a few days, more in the lips; cold compresses, avoiding blood thinners and alcohol beforehand.
Lumps or unevenness
Gentle moulding on the day, massage as instructed; persistent lumps are softened or dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Vascular occlusion
Rare but serious: blanching, pain or mottling of the skin after injection. Prevented by technique (see above) and treated immediately with hyaluronidase, which the doctor has in the room. Vision symptoms are an emergency.
Infection or cold-sore reactivation
Clean technique; antiviral cover for patients with a history of cold sores when treating the lips.
Delayed swelling or nodules
Uncommon; can follow illness or vaccination months later; treated with medication or hyaluronidase.
Tyndall effect (bluish tint) under thin skin
Avoided by placing filler deep enough, especially in the tear trough; dissolvable if it occurs.
Migration
More likely with over-filling, particularly in the lips; conservative dosing and correct placement.

What specialty is on the surgeon’s diploma?
For facial work the honest answers are plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, ENT for a nose, or oculoplastic surgery for eyelids. "Aesthetic surgeon" is not a specialty. Ask which one, and what they operate on the rest of the week.
Which technique, and what does it mean for my swelling and my scars?
Open or closed rhinoplasty, SMAS or deep-plane facelift, skin-only or muscle work on eyelids — each has a different scar position and a different timetable. Ask where the scars sit on you and when the swelling realistically settles.
When is the earliest revision, and who pays for it?
Facial revisions are not done before about twelve months, because the tissue is still settling. Ask what the policy is, and whether the flight and hotel for a revision are included — that is usually where the real cost sits.
Can I see cases that started where I am starting?
Ask for photographs of a nose, or a face, like yours — not the clinic’s best result. Ask whether the surgeon took them, and whether the lighting and the lens are the same in the before and the after.
Who removes my splint or sutures, and who answers at week three?
Week three is when swelling and doubt peak, and it is usually after you have gone home. Ask who you speak to then, and whether it is the surgeon or a coordinator.
Is the anaesthetic given by an anaesthetist, in a licensed theatre?
Facial procedures sold "under sedation" are where this corner is cut most often. Ask for the anaesthetist and the licence of the room you will be in.

How to prepare

- 2.Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E and alcohol for 3–5 days before to reduce bruising.
- 3.Do not have filler in the two weeks before or after a vaccination, or when you are unwell.
- 4.Plan the appointment at least 2 weeks before any event so swelling has settled.
Aftercare at home
- •Cold compresses briefly for swelling; no pressure or massage unless instructed.
- •No make-up over entry points for 12 hours; no strenuous exercise, saunas, sunbeds or alcohol for 24–48 hours.
