Breast Surgery in Turkey
Breast augmentation, lift, reduction, implant replacement and gynaecomastia surgery in Turkey: which operation answers which complaint, and what the scars really cost you.

The short answer
Two complaints get confused constantly, and they need opposite operations. “Empty” is a volume problem and an implant answers it. “Sagging” is a position problem and only a lift answers it — an implant in a sagging breast makes a larger sagging breast. Where both are true, the two operations are done together, which is a bigger procedure with a longer scar than either alone.
Reduction is the odd one out. It is usually done for neck, shoulder and back pain rather than appearance, it is the one operation here the NHS sometimes funds, and it leaves the longest scars of the group.
Every operation on this page trades a scar for a shape. The scar is permanent and the shape is not — pregnancy, weight change and time all move it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling.
Which operation answers which complaint
Small, or volume lost after pregnancy or weight loss, and sitting high
Breast augmentation — implant only, shortest scar, fastest recovery.
Enough volume but sitting low, nipple pointing down
Breast lift. An implant here would add weight to the problem, not fix it.
Both: deflated and dropped
Augmentation with lift, in one operation. Longer scar, longer recovery, and the honest answer for most post-pregnancy cases.
Too large — neck, shoulder or back pain, bra strap grooving, rashes underneath
Breast reduction. Settle the NHS question first; some regions fund this.
Implants placed ten or more years ago
Implant replacement. Implants are devices with a service life, not permanent fittings.
Male chest tissue that has not responded to training or weight loss
Gynaecomastia surgery — glandular tissue does not shrink with exercise, whatever the fat around it does.
Nipple shape, size or inversion only
Nipple correction, usually under local anaesthetic and much smaller than the operations above.

Implants are devices, not permanent fittings
Modern implants come with a manufacturer warranty, which people read as a lifespan guarantee. It is not one. Implants are expected to be exchanged at some point — rupture, capsular contracture, or simply a changed body around an unchanged device.
That matters for the cost of the decision rather than the cost of the operation. An augmentation at thirty is reasonably likely to mean another operation in your forties or fifties, somewhere, at the prices of that decade. Factor it in once, now, rather than being surprised by it then.
We do not use textured implants, and we will tell you the brand, the profile, the volume and the plane in the written plan — not “high quality implants”.
Where the scars go, and why that is the real decision
- Augmentation: usually in the fold under the breast, about four to five centimetres, hidden when standing.
- Lift and reduction: around the areola and vertically down to the fold, often along the fold as well. The T-junction where those lines meet is the commonest site of delayed healing.
- Gynaecomastia: a short curve at the lower edge of the areola, with liposuction entry points at the side.
- Every one of those fades over twelve to eighteen months and none of them disappears. Silicone from week three, sun protection for a year, and no smoking are the three things that genuinely change how they settle.
Sensation, breastfeeding and screening
Nipple sensation changes in a proportion of lifts and reductions, usually recovering over months, occasionally not. Breastfeeding after a reduction is possible for many and not for all, and no surgeon can promise which you will be. If you intend to have children and breastfeed, that is a reason to consider waiting, and we will say so.
Implants do not cause breast cancer, but they change how a mammogram is taken — tell the unit you have them so they use the right views. After any of these operations, screening carries on exactly as it would have.
What the package covers and what it does not
The quoted figure is the operation under general anaesthesia in a hospital theatre, the anaesthetist, pre-operative tests, implants where they are used, hospital nights, hotel nights for the rest of the stay, private transfers, the surgical bra and the first dressing changes, plus remote photograph follow-up for twelve months.
Flights are not included. Neither is a later revision, nor travel insurance — standard policies exclude elective surgery abroad and you need one that names it.

Questions people ask
How long do I stay in Turkey for breast surgery?
Around seven nights for augmentation — one in hospital, the rest in the hotel, with the stitches checked and a fit-to-fly report before you travel. Lift and reduction usually need eight: two hospital nights, and drains have to come out before flying.
Can I have an implant instead of a lift to avoid the scar?
You can, and in a genuinely sagging breast it will make the problem heavier rather than better. Surgeons who agree to that request anyway produce the results that fill revision clinics. If the honest answer in your case is a lift, we will tell you the scar is the price and let you decide.
Will the NHS pay for a breast reduction?
Sometimes, for documented physical symptoms rather than appearance, and the criteria differ by region — some areas fund it with a BMI limit and a physiotherapy trial first, some have stopped funding it entirely. It is worth asking your GP before you pay privately anywhere, because if you qualify, waiting is cheaper than travelling.
When can I go back to work and to the gym?
Desk work in about a week after augmentation, two after a reduction. Nothing with your arms over your head for three weeks, no running for four to six, and no chest or shoulder loading for six weeks in any of these operations.
Why will you not show me before and after photographs?
The results you would be looking at belong to other people and other anatomy, and the ones that get published are selected. What we will do is tell you, from your own photographs and measurements, what is achievable in your case and what is not — which is the thing a gallery cannot tell you.
