Thus, the original teeth of the ahstas are not damaged. While dental veneers only cover the dryness on the front surface of the tooth, dental crowns completely surround the teeth. Like the dental veneers, the crowns of the dental crowns are avr and can be shaped according to the patients’ views.
Types of Dental Crowns
Metal: Metal crowns, they are quite durable. It can easily enable biting and many tooth movements. It does not wear out and is not damaged. However, unfortunately, they are not preferred for visible teeth because they have a metal color. They are more suitable for molars that are not visible.
Porcelain-to-metal fused: If you choose to buy this type of dental crown, you should know that the crowns will be color-matched. The color of the dental crowns will be the same as your natural tooth color, but there will be a metal-colored line where the porcelain and metal meet. However, those that are porcelain will be easier to damage. However, it can be preferred for posterior molars.
All-resin: Dental crowns made from resin are generally less expensive than other types of crowns. However, they wear out over time and are more likely to break than porcelain-fused metal crowns.
All-ceramic or all-porcelain: This type of crown will provide the most natural tooth color appearance. It can be preferred if you are allergic to metal. However, you did not know that it can erode the surrounding teeth.
Pressed ceramic: These dental crowns have a hard inner core. Pressed ceramic dental crowns replace the metal liner used in the all-ceramic crown making process. Pressed ceramic crowns are closed with porcelain that provides the best natural color match. In addition, it provides a longer use compared to other crowns.
Are Dental Crown Treatments Painful?
Dental crown treatments can cause anxiety for many patients. But you should know that there is nothing to worry about. Because during the dental crown treatment, your dentist will numb your teeth completely and you will not feel anything.
In fact, if you have a fear of the dentist, you can even choose general anesthesia for dental crown treatments. So while the dentist is treating your teeth, you are not even aware of it. This also prevents you from experiencing pain after the procedure.
